Sale shopping can be a little overwhelming at times so I hope this helps. Personally I hate messy sale shopping, and as sales start to come to an end it can be hard to find some of the best bits. Here are a few key tips that I follow before I start to sale shop...
1. Look for brands you know you love.
It is easy to get distracted and excited by all of the markdows whilst sale shopping, which can result in buying a number of different things that you would never normally even look at! Resist the temptation and stick with brands you know work for you in terms of aesthetic, quality and fit.
2. Look for classic or seasonless items.
If you are luckly enough to find a key wardrobe piece on sale, add it to your basket now!!! Key items I always look for on sale are; a leather jacket, a good pair of denim blue and/or black jeans, a cashmere jumper, a wool coat, a great blazer, trainers and a tailored pant. These are items you will wear time and time again, styling and mixing them with on trend pieces.
3. Would you buy this if it wasn't on sale?
If the answer is 'no' or 'I'm not sure' if I will get too much wear out of it then put it back on the shelf as you aren't getting the bargain deal that you think you are getting!
4. Can you picture wearing it with three other items in your wardrobe?
I always ask myself this before purchasing a sale item. Don't buy something if it then involves you buying other items. If this is a good piece for you it should automatically work with items in your wardrobe.
5. Be brave with colour.
If you're more of a neutral person, sale shopping allows you to play and introduce a little colour into your life that you mightn't normally splash out on. Pick a colour that will work with your neutral items in your wardrobe. Once you start to introduce colour into your wardrobe you'll be happy to have it, speaking from my personal style experience!
Here are some of my current top sale picks :)
I hope this was helpful and that you spot something that you also love.
